Thank you everyone for making the Fredericton Global 6k for Haiti a HUGE success!!

It was the perfect day – sunny, warm, and with a gentle breeze. The route was along the beautiful Saint John River, under some shady trees, and across the walking bridge. Everyone had great fun doing the walk, visiting the photo booth, and trying their luck with the raffle. The event was topped off with a very tasty BBQ!!

A total of 129 participants registered to walk or run 6 km to help create real and lasting change for children and families in the Morne Pelee community in Haiti. The funds raised will provide seed, irrigation systems and training to farmers, and also help start small businesses.

Over $15,500 was raised by the event. In Haiti, where the Canadian dollar goes a long way, this will provide huge benefit for children and families in the Morne Pelee community. We also had four children in Haiti sponsored through World Vision in this community.

Everyone is looking forward to doing this again in 2024 – I hope you can join us!!
