The 2022 Fredericton Global 6k for Water held on May 28 was a HUGE success!! A big thank you to everyone who participated in the event as well as to all the individuals who made generous donations. A special thank you also to the dedicated volunteers who made this event run so smoothly.
While it may not show it on the Fredericton Global 6k for Water webpage, we have reached our goal of raising $20,000 from this event. This means we will have reached our long-term goal of raising $100,000 for water and sanitation projects in the Morne Pelee community in Haiti. This will make a tangible and long-lasting difference for children and families in this community.
Over 110 people participated, mostly in the Fredericton area. We also had a large group from the Woodstock area, as well as participants from as far away as Toronto and Saskatoon. Participants were of all ages, all the way from little ones in strollers to some dedicated individuals with walkers, and everything in between.
We were able to have an in person event this year. We had a great turnout, wonderful weather, a tasty BBQ, and lots of activities and prizes. The photo booth was particularly popular.
I hope you can join us again next year for this great family-friendly community event!
