The Fredericton Global 6k for Water will be held on Saturday May 29. This virtual event will raise funds for water projects in the Morne Pelee Area Development Program of World Vision.
The community of Morne Pelee is home to more than 13,000 people, more than 40 per cent of whom are under 18. Haiti is the most underdeveloped country in the Western Hemisphere. Like many rural communities, Morne Pelee has poor access to basic social services such as a safe drinking water, electricity, sanitation, recreation centers or vocational schools.
All funds raised from the Fredericton Global 6k for Water will go to water projects in Morne Pelee to help provide safe and accessible water, construct water stations & latrines and rehabilitate wells to create real and lasting change for Haitian families.
