It is great to be back in Haiti again. It is so different from Canada. The thing that struck me most today was just how vibrant this country is – the noise, the activity and yes, even the chaos. In particular, I am impressed by the colours. The clothes, the buildings, the street-side vendors and the flowering plants, everywhere there are wonderful bright colours. The colours make everything seem more alive. A good example of this is right at our hotel. There is a busy street out front, and just across the street, the wall is covered in beautiful paintings. I look forward to a week immersed in this vibrant and colourful culture.
