When our children were younger, we used to count down to a big day by the the number of “sleeps”. I feel a little like that now, counting down the “sleeps” until I return to Haiti.-Only “two sleeps” until this Tuesday March 12, when the FreddyLink team returns to Haiti!! I can hardly wait – I feel as excited as a child, waiting impatiently for this trip to begin.
We are very fortunate to have some special guests join us on this trip. These include Mayor Brad Woodside, Pam Doak of Exit Realty, and Lori Gallagher of The Daily Gleaner. We will also be joined by Janet Johnson, Vice President of World Vision Canada. FreddyLink team members include Heidi Billington, Lori Haggerty, Anne-Marie Hood and myself. Mark Miller, Atlantic Canada regional representative for World Vision Canada will also join us.
I am really looking forward to this trip. It will be great to see all that has happened over the past two years in Cobocol. In particular, I hope to see how extra funds we raised for a “Fill a Stable”, and for a new beef cattle program, have benefited the community. And of course, I am really looking forward to meeting my sponsored children, this will be a highlight of the trip.
